Dear Ridge Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I write you all today. This week we have suffered a great loss to our Mountain Ridge Family. Early Thursday morning, longtime manager and coach, Bob Christman passed away. He had been battling back from injuries sustained a week ago in an auto accident. As many of you know, Bob was dedicated to the players and families of Ridge and the Love of the game. Originally from New York and a lifelong Mets fan, he spent 11 years Spring and Fall as a coach and manager here at Ridge, logging countless hours on our fields at tryouts, practices, and games, both regular & post season. As an All-star Manager & Coach for Ridge, Bob had the opportunity to be a part of 4 State Championship teams in the Senior Division moving on to represent our league, district and state at the West Regional Tournament.
Bob will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, friend, dedicated coach & manager, and an example of what we should all strive to teach our players regarding life lessons, community and sportsmanship. Bob is survived by his wife of 22 years, Laura, son, Matthew, a Senior at Arbor View, and many friends and family.
Viewing will be on Monday, February 26 from 3pm - 7pm at Palm Mortuary on Jones Blvd. Funeral Service will be 10am on Tuesday, February 27, also at Palm Mortuary. There will also be a balloon release at Mountain Ridge Park, Field 7 on Friday, March 2, at 6:45pm. In lieu of flowers please contribute to GoFundMe under Robert Christman Memorial.
