Bomb Squad walk off win secures AAA Title

The AAA division Championship was played on Saturday, November 10th between the Bomb Squad and Giants. The Giants forced the Bomb Squad into the loser’s bracket earlier in the tournament in what turned out to be the first of three thrilling games between these two teams. Both teams settled in behind great starting pitching into the third inning with the Bomb Squad holding the lead 2-1. With two outs in the 3rd, the Giants took advantage of defensive miscues and added a couple of timely hits to score 4 runs to make it a 5-2 game. After a shutdown inning from their ace, the Giants added 2 more runs and held a 7-3 lead after 4. The Bomb Squad managed to get a shutdown frame in the top of the 5th and rallied the offense to score 5 runs in the bottom half and held a fragile 8-7 lead at the end of the 5th inning to setup an epic Championship finale. The Giants responded immediately and started the 6th inning by putting their first three batters on base in what turned into a 3 run inning and a 10-8 lead heading into the bottom half of the 6th. The Bomb Squad came out swinging and put their first 3 runners on before getting a one out, walk off single to get their third 1-run win in four days to secure the AAA Championship!
